Adedoyin Rhodes-Vivour SAN, Managing Partner, Doyin Rhodes-Vivour & Co (Legal Practitioners and Arbitrators) is a Chartered Arbitrator and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and a CEDR UK Accredited Mediator. She holds the LLB [Hons] and LLM degrees in Law. She holds a Masters of Arts degree [MA] with merit in International Peace and Security from King’s College London, University of London [2002]. In recognition of her leadership qualities, she was nominated by the United States Information Services (USIS) to participate in the ‘Young African Leaders Programme’ in 1990. In 2005 she was awarded the prestigious British Government Chevening Scholarship in the area of peaceful settlement of International disputes.

Adedoyin has practiced law for nearly four decades and specializes in commercial transactions, international and domestic arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. Her areas of expertise include oil and gas, energy, construction and infrastructural projects, maritime, banking and finance, franchise and commercial disputes generally. Her legal practice actively encourages alternative dispute resolution and she has successfully mediated several disputes. She has also acted as consultant to regulatory bodies for the drawing up arbitration/ADR industry specific schemes (Nigerian Communications Commission [NCC], Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission [NERC]). She is a Notary Public of Nigeria.

Mrs. Rhodes-Vivour SAN has extensive experience in Arbitration and ADR mainly under the UNCITRAL, ICC and LCIA Rules. Mrs. Adedoyin Rhodes-Vivour’s expertise has been recognized in publications such as the arbitration chapter of Who’s Who Legal Nigeria and recognized as one of the world’s leading arbitrators.  She is described by ‘Who’s Who Legal’ as “second to none for her skill and versatile thinking”. She is listed in editions of Guide to the World’s Leading Commercial Arbitration Experts [Expert Guide] as one of the preeminent professionals in the world.

She holds various significant roles in international dispute resolution organizations. Adedoyin is a member of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR. She is a Vice President of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) African Users’ Council and an inaugural member of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SCIA) Users Council. She is a member of the Board of the African Arbitration Association (AfAA). Adedoyin is a member of the International Law Association (ILA) International Committee on International Commercial Arbitration and the Pioneer Chair, Committee on International Commercial Arbitration of the International Law Association (ILA) Nigerian Branch. She is a member of the ArbitralWomen, member of the International Steering Committee on the ERA Pledge and Co-Chair of the African Subcommittee on the ERA Pledge.

Mrs. Adedoyin Rhodes-Vivour SAN was nominated by Nigeria as a member of the Court of the Permanent Court of Arbitration, PCA at The Hague, The Netherlands. She consequently served on the Court between 2010 and 2016. She was a member of the National Committee on the Reform and Harmonization of Arbitration/ADR Laws in Nigeria. She was a member of the Task Force on the revision of the ICC Rules as Appointing Authority in UNCITRAL and other Ad Hoc Proceedings and the Taskforce on Decision as to Costs of the Commission on Arbitration and ADR, International Chamber of Commerce, Paris.

Adedoyin is a past Chairperson, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Nigeria Branch and served from 2016 to 2019. She is a Founder member and Pioneer President of the Maritime Arbitrators Association of Nigeria [2005-2010]. She is a member of the Council of Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

She is listed on various Arbitration/ADR panels including the database of London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the database of LCIA-MIAC Arbitration Centre, Panel of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Kigali International Arbitration Centre(KIAC), Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) [formerly known as Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration], Lagos Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration, Panel of Neutrals of the Lagos Multi-door Court House and Abuja Multi-door Courthouse.

She has written several articles on Arbitration/Alternative Dispute Resolution and regularly delivers papers at international and domestic conferences and training events. She is the author of the book titled: ‘Commercial Arbitration Law and Practice in Nigeria through the Cases’ published by LexisNexis.

Adedoyin is married to the Honourable Justice Bode Rhodes-Vivour JSC, CFR of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and they are blessed with children and grandchildren.
